William Tanaka

President

Mr. Tanaka is the President/Owner of Aloha Hospitality Consulting LLC, and Managing Partner of American Pacific Hotels LLC.

Over the last 40 years Mr. Tanaka has been involved with the development, conversion, sales and management of over 45 projects and management companies. In 2001 he formed Aloha Hospitality Consulting, whose clients include the MGM Grand Residences and The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki Beach Walk, The Ritz Carlton Residences Waikiki Beach and Aqua Hotels and Resorts. In 2006 he partnered with a local developer to acquire and convert The Regency on Beachwalk, an upscale, boutique condo hotel.  In 2006 he acquired the Island Colony Hotel rental program and implemented a renovation and reposition plan that resulted in a 62% increase in room rates.

From 1990 to 2000 Mr. Tanaka was a founding executive of Marc Hotels & Resorts where he served as general manager of various hotels, and then as senior vice president of operations and development.  For five years Mr. Tanaka Chaired the Oahu Chapter of the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association, and was an executive committee board member of Hawaii American Resort Development Association (ARDA). He is a recognized authority in condominium hotels having participated as an expert panelist and speaker at several condominium hotel symposiums in Hawaii and on the mainland.

Kristie maruyama

Managing Director

Kristie Maruyama has over 18 years of experience in sales and marketing, customer service, real state development, and management. In addition to owning and running a marketing firm, retail store, and restaurant, Kristie previously served as General Manager and Director of Business Development of Matzki, Inc, a Japanese wedding company, where she managed six Matzki affiliates.

For the past 9 years, her focus of work was in condo hotel management, renovation, repositioning and project management. During this period, she successfully coordinated the renovation and repositioning of the Skyline Island Colony condo-hotel from a budget to a mid priced hotel, and was directly responsible for the design, procurement, project management, and owner coordination of the project.  She also oversaw and was involved with various condo hotel projects including Trump Waikiki,  Ritz Carlton Waikiki, Kings Village, and the Montage Kapalua. Her other responsibilities has been serving as the Managing Director for Skyline Island Colony. 

Kristie has a Bachelors in Business Administration in Marketing and International Business from the University of Hawaii.

Erik Kloninger

Director of Finance

Erik has 15+ years of experience in tourism and real estate consulting in Hawaii. He has worked in the hospitality consulting practices of PKF-Hawaii, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Hospitality Advisors. His consulting experience includes market and financial analysis related to the development and repositioning of a variety real estate assets, including hotels, condominium hotels, timeshare projects, retail and master-planned resorts. Erik has worked on projects related to most of the major hotels in Hawaii, all of the Ali’i trusts, the Hawaii Tourism Authority and county governments.

A life-long resident of Hawaii, Erik graduated from Punahou with honors, earned a BA in History from Dartmouth College and an MBA in Finance, with honors, from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

RANDY YOU 

Rental Management Specialist

Randy has over 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry including hotel, condo hotel, and shared ownership segments of the business with first-hand experience and leadership roles in hotel operations, rooms, sales, marketing, revenue management, program development.  His hotel experience includes luxury hotels, convention hotels, mid-tier, and boutique, and experiential resorts.  In 30+ years with Starwood Hawaii, Randy worked at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and assisted with the set-up and opening of Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel at Tokyo Disneyland and held leadership positions in the Sheraton/Starwood Hawaii Regional offices working with all of their properties in Hawaii in Tour Operator Sales, Rooms Operations, Strategic Pricing, and Revenue Management.

During his 5 years with RCI timeshare exchange company as Director of Business Development, Randy worked with timeshare developers in understanding the shared ownership business and timeshare exchange while managing the business relationship between RCI Japan and RCI North America.

Most recently, Randy was General Manager at The Aston Waimea Plantation Cottages and later served as General Manager at the redeveloped Ilikai Hotel and Luxury Suites.
